Sharon's Story
Sharon's life is an inspiring story. She is a person who has overcame huge obstacles. Rendered a paraplegic at age 14 from a rare virus, Sharon ignored her physical limitations
and graduated from a top college with a business degree. She married, had a child and worked for over 20 years in the public and private sector.
By the time she reached her mid-40's, however, her frail body could no longer withstand the rigors of full time employment and she made the painful decision to exit the work force.
Sharon applied for private disability through her employer and received benefits for several years. Then, unexpectedly, her insurance company cut-off her benefits. Sharon received this
fateful news while resting in a hospital bed.
