• Social Security Disability requires you be unable to work for at least twelve months. Ask your doctor if there is any chance you may be out of work for that long. If so, we recommend you submit an application for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits, so you can get the application process started now. Sadly, the Social Security Administration takes a long time to complete the review process and make a determination.
